The aim of this class is to understand the nature of human female and male bodies of different age groups to be able to sketch them full of expression.

FUNDAMENTALS
We study helpful methods how to start drawing a human body by using simple methods in order to integrate central guidelines for balance, shading and optical foreshortening, which are key when drawing people in clothes.
PROPORTIONS
Female and male bodies in different poses as well as drawings of children are the basis for the analysis of the human body in order to understand its nature. The aim is to sketch expressive poses quickly and with ease by applying the learnings of these studies.
CLOTHES & TEXTURE
We want the clothes to appear harmonic on the human body, so that it looks soft and natural. The core topic of this class is therefore the study of different textures, like wool, denim and leather, so that we can indicate different clothes styles on human bodies.
ART SUPPLIES
We use different methods to add color and texture to the sketch:
watercolor pencils, graphite, white chalk, charcoal, ...
